The UK's inflation pressure continues to ease. In May, the inflation rate on an annual basis was 2.0 per cent, in line with market expectations. It is now the first time in nearly three years that inflation is at the central bank's inflation target of 2 per cent.
On a monthly basis, that is, compared to the previous month, consumer prices rose by 0.3 per cent, which was slightly below market expectations (0.3 per cent), according to Bloomberg's compilation.
