The 26-year-old rapper C Gambino was fatally shot late on Tuesday evening in a parking garage near his home in Hisingen, Gothenburg.
Two days later, on Thursday, two people were apprehended as suspects for aiding and abetting murder. They have now been requested to be detained, according to the Prosecution Authority.
Detention hearings will be held in the Gothenburg District Court on Monday.
Prosecutor Shahrzad Rahimi is not expected to comment on the investigation until after the detention hearings.
C Gambino received an award for best hip-hop album at the Grammis gala in May. The single "Last Time" was released just a few days before his death.
As an artist, C Gambino performed with a face mask. His real identity was kept secret.
The Gothenburg Police Department says that C Gambino had a connection to a criminal network.
The investigators believe they have a good idea of how the murder unfolded.
Witnesses saw a car leaving the crime scene at the time of the incident. Later, the police reported that a burned car found on Hisingen may be linked to the murder. The charred vehicle has been seized for technical examination.
