A score of people have died in floods in China after a week of heavy rainfall, reports state media.

A dozen vehicles plunged into a river in Shaanxi Province on Friday. At least twelve people died and over 30 are missing.

China's President Xi Jinping says that all rescue efforts will be made to find survivors, according to the state news agency New China.

Meanwhile, eight people have died and about thirty are missing in southwestern Sichuan Province after a severe storm caused flooding in the city of Ya'an.

Heavy rainfall and flooding are also reported from the provinces of Gansu and Henan in central China.
