The Trump campaign wants to prevent Vice President Kamala Harris, soon to be the Democratic presidential candidate instead of Joe Biden, from accessing Biden's campaign fund of 91 million dollars, approximately one billion kronor.
In a letter to the Federal Election Commission, Trump lawyer David Warrington claims that it would be a rule violation and an illegal gift between candidates to transfer the money from Biden's re-election campaign to Harris' presidential campaign, reports CNN.
Analysts believe that the commission's response will be delayed until long after the election, based on experience with similar disputes. Others point out that Biden and Harris have run a joint campaign, with her as vice presidential candidate.
Following Sunday's announcement, Kamala Harris has collected record amounts, considering the short time that has passed, for her campaign. These are funds that are not part of the 91 million.
