A bomb threat led to the evacuation of the town hall in Halmstad on Thursday afternoon, reports Hallands-Posten. No bomb was found.

The chairman of the municipal council, Susanne Beide (The Moderate Party), made the decision to evacuate after a threatening note was found in the foyer.

We had only a few minutes left until the meeting was about to open when they came forward. They had with them a white paper, a regular A4 with "Bomb today – damn liars" written on it in scribbled handwriting, said Susanne Beide to the newspaper.

At first, only the council chamber was evacuated, but later it was decided that the rest of the town hall would also be emptied.

Just over an hour later, everyone was allowed to return, after the police had searched the town hall without finding any bomb.
