Torsby Resident: "He was a man of the people"

People from Torsby and others from the general public who have gathered for Sven-Göran Eriksson's funeral are paying tribute to the coaching legend. He was like anyone else. Down-to-earth, says Maya Ågren, who is following the ceremony outside the church.

Sven-Göran Eriksson's funeral is being broadcast on a large screen outside Fryksände church in Torsby. Many people from the public have gathered on the lawn.

One of them is Ingela, who says she has known "Svennis" since her children were small. Her son attended football school with him.

So I have a photo of "Svennis" signing an autograph on his back.

Svennis was an ordinary man of the people, he was like all of us. He didn't look down on anyone, that's how I saw him. It was just a matter of going up and talking to him. He was absolutely wonderful, she says.

Curt Ågren is also standing outside the church in a Blåvitt jersey with flowers in his arms.

He is the greatest we've had in the whole world, says Ågren about "Svennis"' significance for IFK Göteborg.

Maya Ågren describes the coaching legend as down-to-earth.

He was like anyone else. Thoroughly pleasant.
