Took home folders with sensitive information: "Serious"

An employee at Lund Municipality's payroll office took home and stored folders with sensitive material about current and former employees in the municipality. The whole thing was discovered only when a new payroll manager took office and missed the folders.

Now, politicians in the municipality are reacting to the information, reports Sydsvenskan.

I take these allegations very seriously. On the one hand, it's about individuals being able to suffer harm if sensitive personal data ends up in the wrong hands, and on the other hand, it's about trust in Lund Municipality as an employer, says opposition councillor Philip Sandberg (L) to the newspaper.

The issue will be addressed at a meeting of the municipal executive board's working committee next week, according to the chairman of the municipal executive board, Anders Almgren (S).

I don't have a complete picture of the situation, and I don't think anyone does. Therefore, the municipal director, possibly with the support of the HR director, will give a presentation to the entire working committee, where we'll find out more about what happened and how serious it can be, he says to Sydsvenskan.
