The week begins with a Finnish low-pressure system, bringing cloudy weather and showers, mainly along the Norrland coast.
However, from Tuesday, a high-pressure system is expected to bring sun and warmth to most of the country. In the southernmost parts, temperatures may reach as high as 26–27 degrees.
In the northwest, it will take a little longer for the sun to arrive, but by Thursday–Friday, it can also become real summer weather with temperatures around 20 degrees.
It's not unusual to have 25 degrees at the beginning of September, but you should keep in mind that there aren't many hours of the day with those temperatures, says meteorologist Therese Fougman at SMHI.
The temperature drops fairly quickly in the evenings, and at night, it can be as low as 10–12 degrees.
There are strong indications that the high-pressure system will remain in place over the coming weekend, at least in the south. For example, the forecast for Gothenburg, Malmö, Karlstad, and Stockholm shows temperatures between 20 and 23 degrees over the weekend.
