The leading stock exchanges in Asia began Tuesday's trading on a positive note as the world prepares for the outcome of the American presidential election.
In Tokyo, the key Nikkei 225 index had grown by 1.1 percent by lunchtime, while the broader Topix index rose by 0.7 percent.
It was also upbeat in Hong Kong, where the Hang Seng index climbed 1.1 percent.
The pattern was repeated in Shanghai and Shenzhen's composite index, which increased by 1.8 and 2.6 percent, respectively.
