November 20: Expressen publishes an investigation revealing that defense secrets and other confidential information could be downloaded from the National Land Survey's e-services. According to Expressen, Director-General Susanne Ås Sivborg was aware of the flaws for several years before the service was shut down. Ås Sivborg is summoned to the government.
November 25: Ås Sivborg meets with Infrastructure Minister Andreas Carlson (KD), who in a written comment says:
"Even after today's meeting, I can see that the pictures from the Director-General, the board, and the media differ. We need to get to the bottom of this."
Susanne Ås Sivborg says in a written comment to TT that she stands by her decisions.
November 26: Ås Sivborg explains herself to the Defense Committee.
It's always very exciting and interesting to explain oneself, she says after the meeting.
The Committee's Chairman Peter Hultqvist (S) says after the meeting that he is not satisfied and demands further answers.
I need to get a more in-depth and detailed information so that one can assess what they did and didn't do, he says.
December 3: According to Expressen, Susanne Ås Sivborg has tried to conceal information about security breaches from the Government Offices.
"I don't share the picture presented in Expressen's articles", says Ås Sivborg.
December 4: The National Land Survey's board plans to call an extraordinary board meeting. It will take place before a regular board meeting on December 17.
December 5: In an interview with TT, Ås Sivborg says that resignation is not an option after the recent criticism:
If there is confidence in me or not, that's for the government to decide. But I feel that I have strong support from employees in the organization.
December 6: Ås Sivborg is fired by the government.
What has primarily been revealed is a lack of ability to handle the risks pointed out regarding confidentiality management when issuing documents, says Infrastructure Minister Andreas Carlson (KD) to TT.
