The shooter Philip Jönsson is selected to defend his Paralympic gold on 10 meter standing air rifle (SH2) from Tokyo in Paris – despite an injury- and illness-filled season.

"Now I feel great joy and relief over being clear and I look forward to going to the Paralympics and showing that it's where I belong", says the 30-year-old from Mariestad who took Sweden's only gold three years ago.

Jönsson is, together with Nicolina Pernheim Goodrich, judo, the two latest selected for Sweden's Paralympic team consisting of 20 active athletes. The 32-year-old Pernheim Goodrich from Gothenburg became a mother to a daughter in January.

"It's completely fantastic that I managed to make it to Paris in such a short time", she says.

The Paralympics take place in Paris between August 28 and September 8.
