In the OMXS30 index, which lists the most traded shares, the decline was broad. Only three companies closed on a plus. Worst were Hexagon and Telia, both falling 4.0 percent.
Astra Zeneca lost 3.1 percent after the news that the Swedish-British pharmaceutical company's China chief is under investigation. What the investigation concerns is not known.
It went better for bearing manufacturer SKF, up 1.9 percent, after the company's report release. Also, real estate company SBB rose, plus 0.6 percent.
The development on the Stockholm Stock Exchange resembled that on leading European stock exchanges. Indices in Frankfurt, London, and Paris all closed on a minus.
The krona weakened slightly against the dollar and euro. At the close of the stock exchange, one dollar cost 10.67 kronor and one euro 11.59 kronor.
