The Integrity Authority (IMY) has imposed a penalty fee of 37 million kronor on Apoteket, while it has been decided that Apohem will receive a penalty fee of 8 million kronor.
This is after the companies transferred sensitive personal data to Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram.
"The processing of this type of sensitive personal data involves high risks that require a high level of protection. The companies had an obligation to take appropriate measures to protect the data from, for example, being shared with unauthorized parties," says Shirin Daneshgari Nejad, lawyer at IMY in a press release.
