The Danish tennis star Holger Rune risks missing the OS in Paris due to his wrist injury.
We have spoken to three doctors now and none of them give the exact same answer, but they all agree that the wrist needs to be fixed and cannot be used, says Aneke Rune, the player's mother and manager.
Rune has received different advice on how to treat his injured left wrist. One doctor has stated that it should be fixed for a few weeks, while others have said up to six weeks, and a third says that an operation is required.
The tennis tournament in the OS starts this weekend, but the 21-year-old has not yet given up hope of playing. Rune, who is ranked 16th in the world, is traveling to Monaco on Tuesday for a new examination.
Last week, Rune was forced to abandon the quarterfinals in the Hamburg ATP tournament due to a knee injury, but Aneke Rune has previously stated that the wrist injury is the major concern.
In August last year, the Dane was ranked fourth in the world and has won a total of four ATP titles in his career.
