The police have stated that the oil tanker has a crew of about twenty people, and that seven of them have been banned from leaving the country.
The crew members are, according to reports, Indian and Georgian citizens, and the ship's captain is said to be a 39-year-old Georgian man, according to Istories, a Russian website for investigative journalism.
Lawyer Herman Ljungberg, who represents the suspected ship's shipping company in Finland, cannot confirm or deny the reports.
We haven't really had a chance to present ourselves. Usually in such situations, you let the legal counsel come on board to assist, he says to Yle.
He has also not received a list of the crew members. The last time he had contact with the ship was on Monday evening, via satellite phone.
Ljungberg tells Yle that the situation is stressful for the crew.
Eagle S, which is flagged on the Cook Islands and is believed to belong to the Russian shadow fleet, is suspected of being behind a series of destroyed underwater cables between Estonia and Finland.
The criminal suspicions concern gross disruption of telecommunications and gross sabotage. The customs authorities are also investigating whether the ship has violated the sanctions against Russia.
