Now it is legal to sell cannabis on licensed cannabis clubs in Germany.

The country became the third in Europe to partially legalize cannabis when the parliament adopted a law in the spring that allows the drug for personal use. Since April 1, it has been legal for adults to carry 25 grams of cannabis and to grow up to three cannabis plants at home.

The next step in the reform means that from July 1, it will be allowed to sell the drug on special cannabis clubs. Each club can have up to 500 registered members and sell 50 grams of cannabis per person and month.

However, in practice, it will take time before the clubs can open their doors because they need to apply for a license, which can take up to three months to obtain.

We are impatient, but we still have to wait, says Keno Mennenga, spokesperson for the cannabis clubs' umbrella organization Mariana Cannabis, to the news agency AFP.
