Kamala Harris has been low-key since the election loss to Donald Trump in November last year. In the TV program "The Late Show" on the TV channel CBS which was broadcast on Thursday, Harris speaks out and explains that she and her husband stopped following the news during the months after the election, and that she instead watched cooking programs.

On Wednesday, Harris announced that she will not run in the election for California's next governor, which will be held next year. Instead, she wants to travel around the country to listen to and talk to people, without asking for their votes.

For now, I do not want to go back into the system, says Harris in "The Late Show".

In the interview, Harris further says that she believes the American political system is broken.

But that does not mean we give up.
