The parties finally reached an agreement three weeks ago. Therefore, the government is now moving forward with the new railway between Gothenburg and Borås.

The government is instructing the Swedish Transport Administration to enter into a co-financing agreement.

"During the summer, County Governor Sten Tolgfors, together with the other parties, has carried out constructive work to reach a solution for the section. The government is now taking this further through the instruction to the Swedish Transport Administration", says Minister for Infrastructure and Housing Andreas Carlson in a press release.

It is, among other things, the routing of the railway and later also the local co-financing that has been debated.

But at the end of August, the parties – including Borås, Härryda, Mölndal, and Gothenburg – agreed on the final details.
