The author Ida Linde is awarded the Eyvind Johnson Prize – a literature prize that has been awarded every other year since 1988 by the municipality of Boden in memory of the author from Boden, Eyvind Johnson.

The prize amount of 70,000 kronor is awarded to her for the novel "When you kick a dog" because she "renews the homecoming novel", as stated in the motivation.

"She has a completely unique narrative voice that renews the homecoming novel. This voice conveys an ancient story about people's search for a home, whether this home is a place or experiencing another person's love", the jury writes in a press release.

Ida Linde will receive the prize in Boden on November 9.
