The Social Democratic Party, the Social Democratic Youth League, and the Social Democratic Women are being investigated by the Consumer Agency and the Gaming Inspection Authority since it was revealed that lottery tickets from the lottery company Kombispel were sold using questionable methods through a telemarketing company on Malta.
However, the answers provided by the Social Democratic Party are not sufficient, according to the Consumer Agency, reports Sveriges Radio Ekot.
The authority demands that the Social Democratic Party provides additional documents. One requirement is to see the sales script used in 2023-2024 by the telemarketing company Effective Communications, where the questionable methods were allegedly used.
The Social Democratic Party must also submit the agreement that existed between the lottery company Kombispel and the telemarketing company Effective Communications, where the questionable methods were allegedly used. They also want to see more details about the review currently being conducted of the gaming operations, where the purpose, according to the Social Democratic Party, is to ensure that lottery sales and marketing are conducted in accordance with the legislation, writes the Consumer Agency.
Since DN revealed the sales methods at Effective Communications in September, Kombispel has stopped using telemarketing. They have also replaced both the board and the CEO.
The Social Democratic Party has two weeks to submit the additional information to the Consumer Agency.
