There has been a storm surrounding the Social Democrats' lottery Kombispel since Dagens Nyheter revealed that a telemarketing company in Barcelona used unfair sales methods. Supervisory cases are ongoing at the Consumer Agency and the Gaming Inspectorate.
Now, the Consumer Agency is questioning whether S has "sufficient insight and control over the marketing of the lottery".
They also point out that there was no written agreement between Kombispel and the telemarketing company hired, and that it affects "the license holder's ability to control and monitor the gaming operation".
"Due to the serious violations that form the basis of the current supervisory case, the Consumer Agency believes that the license holder has failed in its control and responsibility", the agency writes.
After the review, S has stopped using telemarketing. However, the Consumer Agency demands answers on how S will ensure that no unfair methods are used in future telephone sales. The Consumer Agency also wants to know what control S had over the lottery's marketing during 2023-2024.
Furthermore, the Consumer Agency demands to receive additional documents to further investigate the case.
