Djurgården steps up the offense.
Pauline Hammarlund and Mimmi Larsson are clear for the women's Allsvenskan club.
"I hope to contribute with my qualities", says Hammarlund.
After three years of absence, she was suddenly back in the national team – and scored goals in the playoff matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
In national team captain Peter Gerhardsson's next squad, for the European Championship qualifying finale against France and England, Pauline Hammarlund is not included, however.
The 30-year-old has instead focused on other things, such as moving from Florence to Stockholm.
"Something exciting is going on"
The forward, who has played 24 national team matches, has signed a contract with Djurgården for 1.5 years.
"I think Djurgården has something exciting going on now and I want to be part of that journey", she says to the club's website.
"I haven't lived in Stockholm for twelve years either, and being close to my family again will be very fun."
Hammarlund won the Swedish Championship gold with Göteborg FC (later Häcken) in 2020, was then away for almost a year with a cruciate ligament injury and moved to Italian Serie A and Fiorentina last year.
Larsson is clear
Another national team forward who has also chosen to move to Djurgården is the two-time Swedish Championship winner Mimmi Larsson.
The 30-year-old has signed for 2.5 years.
Larsson, with 30 national team matches, left Rosengård at the end of 2022 and after a short time in American Kansas City, moved to Leipzig in Germany.
"I enjoyed myself abroad, but I felt that Djurgården had something that I became eager to be a part of", says Larsson.
"The way Djurgården plays football, wanting to play an attacking style of football. I think I fit in with my playing style."
