Both newspapers are part of Stampen, which last summer declared that the company's paper newspapers "with all likelihood" would disappear outside urban areas after 2027.
"The print edition for the affected titles is no longer large enough to enable profitable distribution," writes Stampen in a press release.
Bohusläningen went from six-day publication to becoming a three-day newspaper two years ago. The newspaper has just under 3,000 paper subscribers.
Bohusläningen, founded in 1878, is published in Uddevalla, while the ST newspaper is an organ for Stenungsund, Orust, and Tjörn. The shutdown will take place between April 1 and July 1.
According to Stampen, many readers have already abandoned paper newspapers for digital solutions.
"Digital maturity is high today, and three out of four affected paper subscribers have already created a digital account with the opportunity to read both the e-newspaper and news website," writes Stampen.
