The Trump administration has published a film on social media showing how migrants are arrested and then imprisoned and taken to an airplane that takes them out of the country.
The whole thing takes place to the tune of "Closing time", which translates to approximately "Now we're closing". The song was a big hit in 1998, also in Sweden where it was on the "Trackslistan".
The American rock band Semisonic is now demanding that Trump stops using their song.
"We have not given permission or have condoned the White House using our song 'Closing time' in any form. And no, they did not ask for permission. The song is about joy and opportunities and hopes and they have completely misunderstood what the song is about", the band writes in a statement, writes Deadline.
Thus, Semisonic joins many artists who have protested against Donald Trump using their music without permission for campaign purposes or on social media. During the last election, it was, among others, Beyoncé and Foo Fighters who spoke out.
