Epassi claims that it is done to strengthen their control over suppliers and it is part of improving control processes. The temporary deactivation is done while an investigation is being conducted "to identify additional necessary measures".
This is happening after an examination by P4 Sweden's Radio, which showed that several Thai massage parlors linked to sex trade are connected to Epassi. At least 100 municipalities use the portal to manage employees' health benefits.
"That Epassi's service is being used to cheat with health benefits, and that sex purchases even occur, is completely unacceptable – we are firmly determined to be part of the solution and drive the effort to address the problem", says Epassi's CEO Åsa Severgårdh in the press release.
