If a ceasefire is achieved, Switzerland can contribute with 200 men to a peacekeeping force in Ukraine, says Defense Chief Thomas Süssli to the newspaper Blick.
Süssli emphasizes that Swiss participation requires that armed conflicts between Russia and Ukraine first cease, and that the parties accept a UN-led peacekeeping force.
It will take Switzerland between nine and twelve months to recruit and train the soldiers, he adds.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj has previously called for a deterrent force of 100,000-150,000 soldiers.
