Young unemployed individuals are to receive economic assistance to obtain a driver's license. This is proposed by the Social Democrats. The total investment amounts to half a billion kronor.
The Employment Service will be able to finance driver's licenses for young people between 18 and 24 years old, and it is also proposed that CSN loans for driver's licenses for cars, trucks, and buses be made available.
According to the Social Democrats, more than half of all young people between 18 and 24 years old who are registered as unemployed with the Employment Service lack a driver's license. At the same time, it is a requirement for getting a job in many industries.
CSN loans for driver's licenses previously existed, but were abolished by the current government in 2024.
