The Swedish artist Oscar Stembridge has moved on in the American version of "Talent".
On Wednesday night, the 16-year-old received standing ovations from the audience after performing his own song "What if". He also received praise from the TV program's usually brutally honest jury member Simon Cowell:
This was so beautiful. Everything about this brilliant audition was you.
"Getting to play my own music on the world's largest stage was completely fantastic and getting the fine response from the audience and from the jury – it's something I'll never forget", says Oscar Stembridge according to a press release.
Stembridge got a record deal already at the age of ten and has since released a debut EP, won the award for newcomer of the year at the Denniz Pop Awards, participated in "Allsång på Skansen" and played the lead role in the SVT series "Kär".
Stembridge is the second Swede to compete in the program, which is called "America's Got Talent" in English. The first was Chris Kläfford in 2019.
