The police and national bomb squad were on the scene on Tuesday morning after an alarm about a suspected dangerous object outside the gate of a multi-family house in Tumba, south of Stockholm.
It has been disarmed and removed by the national bomb squad, says the police's press spokesperson Per Fahlström at 11:30 am.
If the object was live, the technicians will conduct further investigations. The police are now conducting investigative measures on the site, including door-to-door knocking.
There is still a small cordon where the technicians are conducting a technical investigation, says Per Fahlström and continues:
The large cordons have been lifted and traffic can flow normally again.
It was at 5:45 am on Tuesday morning that a person alerted the police to the suspected object. The area around the object was cordoned off. Some people were evacuated from the first floor and some residents were relocated.
The police have initiated a preliminary investigation into preparation for general destruction. No one has been detained in the case.
