Paramilitary RSF in Sudan claims that the group has taken over the military's most important facility in the city of Singa in Sennar province.
A spokesperson for the Sudanese military claims, however, that the military has regained control of the provincial capital, and that fighting is ongoing on Sunday.
None of the claims have been verified by independent parties.
The offensive in Sennar province began earlier in the week. According to the UN's migration agency IOM, at least 327 households have since been forced to flee from the community of Jebal Moya and the city of Singa.
Since the fighting broke out in Sudan in 2023, when the previously cooperating parties in the army and the paramilitary group RSF began fighting each other, tens of thousands of people have been killed and over ten million have been forced to flee. The war has led to one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.
