Treacherous road conditions with slippery roads are causing problems for public transportation in Västernorrland. All buses in Sundsvall, Matfors, Härnösand, and Njurunda have been cancelled during the morning due to slippery roads, reports SVT Västernorrland.
The Swedish Transport Administration is urging drivers in Southern Norrland to drive cautiously and adjust their speed on its website.
"There are very slippery road conditions with a risk of sudden ice slippery roads due to rain on frozen road surfaces. During the day, the rain is expected to continue falling and moving northwards", writes the authority.
The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute has issued a yellow warning for sudden ice slippery roads in southern Norrland, Jämtland, Västerbotten, and southern Lapland.
