In December 2021, Fredrik Skavlan, 58, broadcast his last talk show on SVT. Next autumn, he will be back on the screen, but in a new program format.
Skavlan is very enthusiastic about the program and calls it a challenge. But the secrecy is great and he can't really say anything.
It's a project that's under development, so I'm a bit afraid to describe it too much, he says.
"Work in progress"
But it's an own developed concept and not a talk show.
It's a journalistic program and a studio program, but it's more here and now than maybe "Skavlan" was. But it's too early to say what it is, because it's a "work in progress".
Although it's so secret, Skavlan still needs to tell that he has something going on, in order to be able to start working on the program.
We have to be able to tell what we can tell, so that we don't have to keep a secret when we're going to start planning, doing set design and building a studio, he says and laughs.
Bergfeldt and Bianca
Skavlan never left the TV world when the talk show was discontinued. His TV company produces both Carina Bergfeldt's and Bianca Ingrosso's talk shows on SVT and Max, respectively.
He has also received many requests for his own comeback, but hasn't taken the bait until now.
I come from newspaper journalism and getting to go back to that type of TV and combine it with what I've learned over the years is very fun. And then it felt right. It wasn't hard to jump on it, but I can't say that I've longed to go back.
