A person has been killed and several have been injured at a wedding in Thionville in northeastern France, according to Republicain-Lorraine. The attack is believed by the police to have connections to drug trafficking.

About a hundred people were present when several masked and armed men opened fire at a wedding party in Thionville. They shot at guests and injured several people.

The injuries are described as serious for two people, one of whom has injuries described as critical. One person was killed.

It was just after 1 am in the morning when a group of armed individuals began shooting at people outside a wedding venue.

The police do not suspect that the wedding itself was the target, but rather some of the wedding guests. The attack is believed to have connections to a settlement between criminals with connections to drug trafficking, according to the police.

After the attack, the perpetrators fled the scene.

The police have cordoned off the area and are conducting a technical investigation. Several finds have been made.

Thionville is located near the border with Germany and Luxembourg.
