In August 2023, the police found a hand grenade in the same area, but at a different address. It is believed to have been directed at a person who lived in the area at the time.
The police now suspect that the hand grenade found on Sunday had been lying in place since 2023.
"When we look at the condition of this hand grenade, and also compare it to the hand grenade found in 2023, we have reason to believe that this hand grenade was also intended for that occasion," says Magnus Hellgren, Acting Local Police Chief Enköping/Håbo, on the police website.
The grenade found on Sunday was neutralized through a controlled detonation. The police currently see no threat against the people living at the current address.
