On Tuesday, seven climate activists were arrested who tried to prevent peat extraction on Grimsås moss in Tranemo municipality.
Later in the afternoon, the police announced that all arrested persons had been detained.
Already last week, people were in the area to stop activities related to peat extraction, which has been the subject of protests for several years. The people are said to have, among other things, glued themselves to excavators, according to the police.
The seven persons were arrested on Tuesday and are suspected of gross trespassing.
One assesses that they have entered the area where the company is to work and that they have hindered the work, says Caroline Karlsson, the police's press spokesperson in Region West.
The arrest is said to have gone smoothly, according to the police.
