The shootings took place on September 26 and 27 last year.
First, a 61-year-old man was shot in his villa in Åkersberga north of Stockholm. A fire was also started in his home in connection with the incident. The man suffered severe injuries but managed to put out the fire and survived.
Registered at the address
The 61-year-old had no connection to gang crime, but a person who can be linked to the gang environment was registered at his address. However, there is no indication that they knew each other.
The day after, a group of men who were grilling late in the evening in a courtyard in Jordbro south of Stockholm were shot at. A 23-year-old man who was hit by a shot to the head died. Another man in the company was injured in the hand.
The victims in Jordbro are believed to have been randomly selected.
We will argue that someone wanted to shoot anyone, indiscriminately. These people have simply been affected by it, says prosecutor Åsa Valter.
The getaway car crashed
The perpetrators left the crime scene in a white pickup truck - but crashed into a residential building during the escape. When the police arrived, they later found weapons and phones in the vehicle. The traces from there led to the quick arrest of several people.
A car with the same description had also been seen at the shooting in Åkersberga, which is why the two incidents could be linked.
The seven people who are being prosecuted, five men and two women, are said to have acted on behalf of someone else. The shootings are believed to be part of the internal conflict within the Foxtrot network that erupted last fall.
We can see that people involved in this have connections to the Foxtrot network, says Valter.
The prosecutor has also brought charges against a boy who was under 15 years old at the time of the incident. He is suspected of involvement in the incident in Åkersberga.
What we claim is that he was involved in the shooting and was involved in starting the fire, says Åsa Valter.
Among those charged with murder is also a young right-wing extremist who was active in the Nazi Nordic Resistance Movement. Exactly how he ended up in the gang environment is not something the investigation has focused on, says Åsa Valter.
All the defendants deny the crimes.
