There is not sufficient evidence to say whether Israel's attacks on hospitals are proportionate or not, according to Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (The Moderate Party). "Extremely weak", says Morgan Johansson (S) about the statement.

According to a new UN report, Israel has carried out 136 attacks on 27 hospitals and 12 other healthcare facilities since the war began. In an interview with TT, Kristersson could not answer whether the warfare was within the framework of proportionate self-defense and referred to the fact that he had not seen sufficient evidence for or against.

We cannot answer that today. But there are reasons why we, the EU, and many countries have stated that Israel must take greater consideration for the civilian population, said Ulf Kristersson.

Morgan Johansson, foreign policy spokesperson for the Social Democrats, calls the figures from Gaza unimaginable.

"Since the war began, over 45,000 Palestinians have been killed, most of them women and children. In that situation, Sweden's Prime Minister cannot even bring himself to state that Israel's violence is disproportionate", he writes in a comment to TT.

"It is extremely weak leadership, even for Kristersson", continues Johansson.

He points out that Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu is wanted by the International Criminal Court ICC for crimes against humanity and war crimes.

"Sweden must demand an immediate ceasefire and a stop to the killing of civilians in Gaza", writes Morgan Johansson further.
