A court in Moscow sentenced Russian blogger Anna Bazjutova to five and a half years in prison on Wednesday, after she broadcast witness testimony about Russian atrocities in the Ukrainian city of Bucha.
The court holds that Bazjutova spread "false" information about the Russian army's abuses, committed during the occupation of the city in 2022.
Ukraine later recaptured the city, and accuses Russia of having committed a massacre of civilians in the area.
Anna Bazjutova organized the live broadcast in June last year on the streaming platform Twitch, in which several residents of Bucha participated. In the broadcast, the Russian army was accused of killing people in the city.
The 30-year-old blogger calls the verdict "repulsive and disgusting".
