The Russian key interest rate is already record high. Now the Russian central bank is signaling that it needs to be raised further to meet the rising inflation.
On Friday, the interest rate was left unchanged at 21 percent, but a hike may become relevant at the next meeting.
In December, the inflation rate was 9.5 percent, according to official figures, more than twice as much as the central bank's target. And the central bank sees no signs that the price increase rate is on its way down.
