Two women have come forward with new information, according to the London police, which is now leading to Brand being formally charged. In April of this year, he was charged with assault and rape against four different women.
The police began investigating this after The Sunday Times and Channel 4 published a joint investigation in September 2023. Several women came forward and claimed that Brand had sexually assaulted them in the UK and Los Angeles.
The previous indictment concerns two counts of rape and several counts of sexual assault. Brand has denied all charges.
The new charges will be heard in court on January 20 next year, while the comedian's trial continues on June 16 in London.
According to the police, the women who reported the fire are receiving continued support from specially trained investigators. They emphasize that the investigation is still ongoing and urge anyone with further information to contact the police.
