Several police patrols rushed out in Västerås after being alerted about a suspected hand grenade in a flowerbed. The area was cordoned off and contact was made with the bomb squad for an assessment.

The story, however, had a happy ending – what lay in the flowerbed turned out to be a toy for dogs. From a distance, it could be mistaken for a grenade, though.

"The toy is deemed harmless and intended for play", the police write on their website.
