The Spaniard Alex Palou took home the overall victory in Indycar for the third time in four years, despite only finishing eleventh in the season's final race.
For Felix Rosenqvist, it was a twelfth-place finish in the overall standings. He ended the season by blowing a tire and didn't cross the finish line.
"A disappointing end to the season, of course, and it's never fun when something like that happens. Everything felt good, but suddenly it just blew and I became a passenger into the wall", says Rosenqvist in a press release.
"This basically sums up our year: fast, but poorly paid for the speed."
Rosenqvist switched to Meyer Shank Racing before this season. For the relatively new team in the Indycar context, Rosenqvist's twelfth place is the best so far.
"Considering our starting point, it's been a very promising season, and this is just the beginning. We've laid the foundation and will come back stronger next year", says Rosenqvist after his sixth season in Indycar.
The other two Swedes, Marcus Ericsson and Linus Lundqvist, finished 15th and 16th respectively in the overall standings. Lundqvist finished eighth in the final race and Ericsson was forced to retire.
