The Spanish equivalent of the Ministry of Social Affairs is investigating the matter since ADEE, the Spanish association for people with achondroplasia and skeletal dysplasias, has filed a complaint.
We have asked the prosecutor to investigate to see if the law has been breached and, therefore, the rights of people with disabilities, says the authority to AFP.
The complaint against hiring short-statured people as entertainment is said to have been filed because, according to ADEE, it among other things perpetuates stereotypes and fuels discrimination.
The entertainers at the party are said to have danced, served drinks and performed magic tricks. One of them says in an interview with the Catalan radio station RAC1:
No one was disrespectful to us, we were allowed to work in peace.
The person criticizes the complaint from ADEE at the same time.
We are normal people, who engage in what we love to do, in a completely legal way.
