Victor Eklund has written a three-year rookie contract with New York Islanders. The contract is worth 28 million kronor.
"I am proud to be an Islander", writes the 18-year-old himself on Instagram.
Djurgården's forward was selected as the 16th choice of New York Islanders in this summer's draft.
He is expected to play in Djurgården, which he helped back to SHL in the spring, also next season.
Victor Eklund scored 31 points in 42 matches during the last season.
Also teammate Anton Frondell was drafted during the summer (as the third choice for Chicago) and is expected to play in Djurgården during the coming season.
