Elias Ymer, 29, has just like his brother received a wildcard to the tournament. It was a win directly in the first round against the American Tristan Boyer with 6–3, 3–6, 6–2.

The 126-ranked American tried to disturb Ymer, ranked 264 in the world, with different methods – including a long toilet visit.

It was the longest toilet break I have been involved in ever. It was therefore I got breaked now when I think about it. I must handle it better, he says to Helsingborgs Dagblad about when he lost a serve game in the second set.

Ymer countered with a toilet visit in the third set when the American also received a point penalty for an outburst of rage.

Mikael Ymer managed to initiate his comeback in Båstad, where he has not played since 2021, but not complete it.

A rain shower stopped it.

His match against the 100-ranked Botic van de Zandschulp was interrupted when the Dutchman led with 5–4 in the first set. The match will resume on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old Mikael Ymer is down at 618th place in the world ranking after his 18 months long suspension for breach of doping rules.
