The American actor John Amos is dead, reports American media. He passed away in his home in Los Angeles, 84 years old.
In Sweden, John Amos is primarily known for his role as the adult Kunta Kinte in the TV series "Roots", as well as for his roles in films and series such as "Coming to America", "Die Hard 2" and "The West Wing".
He also played the patriarch James Evans in the TV series "Good Times" which was broadcast in the USA in the 1970s.
