Former star player Wayne Rooney has done his part as coach in Plymouth. With immediate effect, he leaves the club that is last in The Championship, the English second division.
Plymouth writes that it is a mutual decision for Rooney to quit.
The 39-year-old former striker signed a three-year contract before this season, where Plymouth under Rooney's leadership has offered weak results and only taken 18 points in 23 matches. In the last nine matches, there has not been a single victory.
Mike Phelan and Simon Ireland are also leaving the leadership team at the bottom-of-the-table club.
