A high-ranking North Korean general has been injured in a Ukrainian attack on the Kursk region in Russia, according to a Western source, reports Wall Street Journal.
This is the first time Western sources have confirmed that a high-ranking North Korean military officer has been injured in the war in Ukraine.
North Korea has sent over 10,000 soldiers to Russia, according to American estimates.
The soldiers wear Russian uniforms and Russian equipment, but are likely to fight in their own units. North Korea has a significant army but, unlike Russia, has not been involved in battles for decades.
