The Work Environment Authority reports Nordic Sugar to the police after the explosion at the sugar refinery in Örtofta last year, reports SVT Skåne.
The Authority believes that the company has not fulfilled its obligations regarding the work environment and wants the prosecutor to decide whether those responsible at the company should be prosecuted.
Last November, a boiler exploded at the refinery north of Lund, which is Sweden's only remaining sugar refinery. The explosion was powerful and caused significant material damage, but no one was injured.
"Whether there was a concrete risk, or whether the employer can be blamed for negligence of a sufficiently serious nature, the Work Environment Authority leaves to the prosecutor and police to assess," it says in the report.
