The French prosecution authority has searched Netflix's offices in France. French and Dutch investigators have also made raids on the streaming giant's offices in Amsterdam.
According to sources for Le Monde, the suspicions against Netflix include, among other things, money laundering, aggravated tax fraud, and illegal labor.
The investigation began in 2022, and French and Dutch authorities have collaborated for several months leading up to Tuesday's raids, the newspaper writes.
French authorities have previously examined Netflix's tax arrangements. According to Le Monde, the company previously avoided taxes by instead reporting profits in the Netherlands. Something that is said to have ceased in 2021.
